Terms and Conditions

1. A REIGA registered installer must have installed the Equipment.

2. All repairs to the Equipment at any time shall be carried out by an engineer approved by the manufacturer or registered with REIGA .

3. Subject to condition 2 above the Equipment shall not have been tampered with after the installation Date.

4. The structure to which the Equipment is attached, shall not after the Installation Date have been subject to any internal or external alteration, disturbance, misuse, abuse or neglect or, have any other equipment attached to it or be exposed to any additional pressures, loads or influences, which may in the professional opinion of an independent surveyor, structural engineer or other suitably qualified person appointed by REIGA affect the fixture of or performance of the Equipment attached to it.

5. The structure to which the Equipment is attached shall be structurally sound at the time of installation.

6. For the avoidance of doubt this guarantee shall relate only to defects in workmanship relating to the installation of the Equipment and shall not relate in any way to defects
in Equipment.

7. This guarantee relates to the Equipment and will not be affected by a change in owner or occupant of the property to which the Equipment is attached.

8. Prior to requesting REIGA to become involved in rectifying any defect covered by this guarantee the installer must be notified in writing of such defect and allowed a reasonable opportunity and access to remedy such defect.

9. If the defect has not been rectified within 45 days of receipt of such notification REIGA should be contacted by post at 66 Victoria Road, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 9LH or such other address as notified by REIGA, REIGA undertakes to respond to your letter within 14 days of its receipt. REIGA will then investigate the reported defect and may arrange for the Equipment and structure to be surveyed by an independent surveyor, structural engineer or other suitably qualified person. Such surveyor, structural engineer or other suitably qualified person shall be allowed reasonable access to the property to which the Equipment is attached.

10. Any claim under this guarantee shall be notified in writing to REIGA within 10 years and 60 days of the Installation Date.

11. If such surveyor, structural engineer or other suitably qualified person is of the opinion that there has been a defect in the workmanship relating to the Installation of the Equipment, then, subject to condition 12 below, REIGA shall rectify such defect unless any of these terms and conditions have not been complied with.

12. The cost to REIGA of any rectification work (including any cost of repairing or replacing the Equipment) carried out under this guarantee shall not exceed £5,000 including VAT and REIGA’s liability under this guarantee is accordingly limited to £5,000.

13. This guarantee will not cover any costs of rectification work normally covered under a buildings or property insurance or costs of any rectification work arising from acts of terrorism or vandalism.

14. For the avoidance of doubt under the terms of this guarantee REIGA shall not be liable for any damage to property (other than damage to the Equipment caused by any defect in the workmanship relating to its installation), personal injury, death or claims for loss of anticipated savings unless such liability arises as a result of the negligence of REIGA.

15. The terms and conditions of this guarantee do not affect your statutory rights.
