How the guarantee scheme works
Every time a REIGA member company installs renewable energy
products, they should give the customer a 10 year guarantee,
subject to terms and conditions. They
also pay a small
levy to REIGA for each installation they
carry out. This
levy pays the cost of operating the guarantee agency, for
it to carry out checks on its members' work and to contribute
to a reserve fund.
If after dealing with the installer
a problem is reported to REIGA by a customer, REIGA will
approach the installer to establish the details. This may
in itself resolve the problem, however if it does not REIGA
will appoint a surveyor to report on the problem and based
on that report, REIGA will take the necessary remedial
action. This may include appointing another installer to
