The renewable energy market has existed for many years on a small scale. Equipment has been expensive and a number of installers are no longer around who have fitted equipment. This has led to customers questioning the safety of having solar panels or wind turbines installed should there be problems with the installation later on.

The market is now growing rapidly with new products and installers appearing. There is a need make it possible for quality suppliers and installers to stand out from the others in the market.

REIGA has been established to deal with these issues and to offer installers and suppliers the ability to market to the customer at relatively low cost a level of assurance through the guarantee scheme that will answer the question “what if you are no longer around”. REIGA is independent and if an installer ceases, amalgamates or disappears from the customer’s horizon and a guarantee has been issued, the customer can approach REIGA who will provide a conduit to address these problems.

The scheme is administered by the industry and therefore requires a commitment from that industry. As an installer, you will be required to undertake repairs within the guarantee period at your own cost and to provide a modest guarantee to REIGA to support your activities. If an installer’s business should fail or just cease, REIGA will be there to ensure that the customer is protected with regard to the installation of the renewable energy equipment.
